{"id":697,"date":"2012-03-07T19:59:38","date_gmt":"2012-03-08T00:59:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rosie.remarc.com\/?p=697"},"modified":"2012-11-25T22:58:58","modified_gmt":"2012-11-26T03:58:58","slug":"snow-freezing-rain-and-wind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rosie.remarc.com\/?p=697","title":{"rendered":"Snow, freezing rain, and wind"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My recent trip to Plattsburgh to visit Mr. Airstream,\u00a0<a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/sites.google.com\/a\/colinhydetrailerrestorations.com\/home\/');\"  href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/a\/colinhydetrailerrestorations.com\/home\/\">Colin Hyde<\/a>, was\u00a0fraught\u00a0with inaccurate weather forecasts. \u00a0The hills of Schoharie hate me. \u00a0The good news is I was able to make the trip safely while towing the trailer. \u00a0Gives me experience and more confidence if I get stuck driving in bad weather in the future.<\/p>\n<p>I am annoyed with myself that I didn&#8217;t take any photos at Colin&#8217;s shop, but you can see a few pics from <a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/63overlandermoonraker.blogspot.com\/2011\/11\/guess-where-i-was-yesterday.html');\"  href=\"http:\/\/63overlandermoonraker.blogspot.com\/2011\/11\/guess-where-i-was-yesterday.html\">Reinergirl&#8217;s blog post<\/a>\u00a0(sans snow piles).\u00a0I need to tell Shelly that I saw Moonraker waiting patiently. \u00a0I went to the shop for a leak test and to get a custom\u00a0<a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/www.vintagetrailersupply.com\/RV_Deadbolt_p\/vts-343c.htm');\"  href=\"http:\/\/www.vintagetrailersupply.com\/RV_Deadbolt_p\/vts-343c.htm\">VTS dead bolt <\/a>installed. \u00a0Colin is adapting the deadbolt Steve sells so it works with trailers like mine. \u00a0See the new dead bolt on the body of the trailer below the handle by the door. \u00a0I think he&#8217;s going to send photos of the install to Steve, so I&#8217;ll link to those when they are available. \u00a0He also fixed my door lock while he was at it. \u00a0What a man!<\/p>\n<p><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/lh4.ggpht.com\/-KDcmDpwYii8\/ULLoIIyt_1I\/AAAAAAAAFPo\/nv0E7Pf6q0A\/w600\/IMG_0732.JPG');\" class=\"thickbox\"  href=\"http:\/\/lh4.ggpht.com\/-KDcmDpwYii8\/ULLoIIyt_1I\/AAAAAAAAFPo\/nv0E7Pf6q0A\/w600\/IMG_0732.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/lh4.ggpht.com\/-KDcmDpwYii8\/ULLoIIyt_1I\/AAAAAAAAFPo\/nv0E7Pf6q0A\/w400\/IMG_0732.JPG\" alt=\"IMG_0732.JPG\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>His crew (Reed, Dave, and Anthony) also bucked more rivets to secure Rosie&#8217;s rear end (no comments from the peanut gallery please) and reinforced the cracked and separating wheel well black plastic.<\/p>\n<p><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/lh5.ggpht.com\/-C4eZs_TCUW8\/ULLornaIXII\/AAAAAAAAFPw\/1L7ahIqBNB4\/w600\/new_rivets.jpg');\" class=\"thickbox\"  href=\"http:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/-C4eZs_TCUW8\/ULLornaIXII\/AAAAAAAAFPw\/1L7ahIqBNB4\/w600\/new_rivets.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/-C4eZs_TCUW8\/ULLornaIXII\/AAAAAAAAFPw\/1L7ahIqBNB4\/w400\/new_rivets.jpg\" alt=\"new_rivets.jpg\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The best part of my trip was getting to see Malcolm after he got out of school. \u00a0I really enjoy talking with that young man.<\/p>\n<p><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/lh3.ggpht.com\/-BnipNFDKeAM\/ULLn2Cp0grI\/AAAAAAAAFPg\/5tVaoup4d5g\/w600\/2012-02-16_14-19-29_75.jpg');\" class=\"thickbox\"  href=\"http:\/\/lh3.ggpht.com\/-BnipNFDKeAM\/ULLn2Cp0grI\/AAAAAAAAFPg\/5tVaoup4d5g\/w600\/2012-02-16_14-19-29_75.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/lh3.ggpht.com\/-BnipNFDKeAM\/ULLn2Cp0grI\/AAAAAAAAFPg\/5tVaoup4d5g\/w400\/2012-02-16_14-19-29_75.jpg\" alt=\"2012-02-16_14-19-29_75.jpg\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then that night, I again missed a photo op of my truck and trailer\u00a0parallel\u00a0parked on a downtown Albany street in front of daughter and sil&#8217;s house. \u00a0C&amp;N were very helpful directing my poor backup attempts in the freezing rain late at night.
